New Podcast, give-aways, and general studliness.

Another weekend has come and gone, and we didn't actually get into the theaters. There just wasn't anything that was irresitably calling us to the silver screen, and no, Inglorious Basterds wasn't enough to get me in the seat for 3 hours. Despite a few callers defending the film and its defacto "Tarantino-awesomeness" we are skeptical, and may check it out later this week. Not many great DVDs coming out this week either. Highlights being the Criterion release of The Last Days of Disco. We talked more about Avatar, the upcoming Wolf Man remake, and new movies coming out this weekend. We also gave away more free tickets to The Second City. We heard music from a bunch of movies too, but since I didn't write them all down and we had tons of technical difficulties, I only remember playing music from these. Deal with it.

Return to Oz - David Shire (1985)
Death Rides A Horse - Ennio Morricone (1967)
Spider - Howard Shore (2002)
The Howling - Pino Donaggio (1981)
The Time Tunnel - Herman Stein (1966)
The Running Man - Harold Faltermeyer (1987)

Another Podcast chock full-o' reviews!

Hey gang,

We had a great show this week. You should give yourself a swift kick in the crotch if you missed it live (must be double jointed). We gave away free tickets to The Second City at their show at the Walton Arts Center next weekend. We've got another set for next weeks show to give away so tune in live next week! We also had tons of films to review. We talked about District 9, The Goods: Buy Hard Sell Hard, and Ponyo. Trust me, you won't get bored in this show at all. As if you get bored during any show right?

Lawnmower Man 2 - Robert Folk (1996)
House On Sorority Row - Richard Band (1983)
Hanna Barbara Medly
The Usual Suspects - Damon Intrabartolo (1994)
Karate Amazons - Franco Micalizzi (1975)
Pete's Dragon - Irwin Kostal (1977)
Space Adventure Cobra - Kentaro Haneda (1982)

John Huges Tribute Show

This week brings us sad news, but when life hands us deaths, we make lemonade? Or never mind...we do have good feature shows though. If you haven't peeked out of your rock this past week, it'll be a shock to you that John Hughes died, and for many so did a man who shaped and preserved their youth via film. I won't go into the details, as I'm sure you know them already, but I will direct you to a podcast that may completely rock your world. We spent two hours playing music from some of our favorite John Hughes films and discussing the rest of them whilst wearing bras on our heads. Many of these tunes you may have never heard outside the films, and others may evoke powerful memories of first kisses, first wedgies, or any number of awesome emotions.

We heard music from the following films:

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Pretty in Pink
Sixteen Candles
Weird Science
Career Opportunities
National Lampoon's Vacation
The Breakfast Club
