I know it's been a while since I posted a podcast...why? Cause you jokers don't download them enough! Thanks to the few of you that do, but to the rest of you, listen up! I've got a new co-host now very similar to my old partner The Negative Cutter, he goes by "The Best Boy" and he's a wealth of film knowledge as well as being a pretty good straight man. At least he puts up with all the wise I crack. Anyhoot...let's get to business. I've got podcasts for ya, I am just curious if you deserve'em. So here's the deal. I'm going to post our Cinco De Mayo Especial and if it gets enough downloads, I'm going to continue posting each weeks podcast.
Since the show fell on May 5th, we felt we should do something to pay homage to this unique holiday. I mean I'm starting to see Cinco De Mayo celebrations all over the place (even when many people don't really know what it's for) So what better way to celebrate this mexican holiday that's being marketed for American consumption than with a show with music from Spaghetti Westerns! Movies made by Italians, about Mexicans, targeted at American audiences! You'll hear music from:
Kill Them All and Come Back Alone - Fransesco De Masi - (1968)
El Topo - Alejandros Jodorowsky - (1970)
Once Upon A Time In The West - Ennio Morricone - (1969)
The Stranger Returns - Stelvio Cipriani - (1967)
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly - Ennio Morricone - (1966)
Desperado - Tito & Tarantula / Los Lobos - (1995)
¡Three Amigos! - Randy Newman/Elmer Bernstien - (1986)
(Okay so not all of them are spaghetti westerns...don't be so picky...sheesh.)
